How to Choose the Right Hoverboard
Shopping for a hoverboard comes down to a handful of key decisions.
- Rider age & experience — kids' models cap speed and prioritize stability; adult models offer more power and range
- Terrain — 6.5" wheels suit smooth pavement, 8.5"+ handles grass, gravel, and cracks better
- Battery & range — check the actual watt-hours, not just the advertised mile range, which varies with rider weight
- Weight capacity — leave a buffer above your own weight for the best performance
- Certification — confirm UL 2272 safety certification directly on the listing
- Extras — Bluetooth speakers and LED lights are nice-to-haves, not dealbreakers
- Warranty — aim for at least one year of coverage
